How to choose a double pushchair without regretting the dimensions

The wrong dimensions create friction every day. Feature lists do not rescue a pushchair that will not fit the boot, turn in the hallway or pass through the shop you use most.

Measure the entire route

Record the narrowest doorway, the usable boot opening, the boot floor, the hallway turn and any lift. Do not rely on estate-agent dimensions or a manufacturer’s single folded-width number.

Price the full configuration

Second seats, carrycots, car-seat adapters, rain covers and footmuffs can move the real cost well beyond the headline chassis price.

Test the daily actions

Consider lifting weight, folding with one hand, accessing the basket with both seats fitted, adjusting recline and getting both children in safely when you are alone.
